The final film in the Given series, Given: To the Sea, is collaborating with Bandai Namco Amusement’s indoor theme park, NAMJATOWN. From the release date of the film on September 20th, they will be exhibiting illustration panels and selling original goods.
“Given” is a youth band story based on the BL comic by Kizu Natsuki that began serialization in the Spring 2013 issue of “Cheri+”. The story begins with the meeting of Sato Mafuyu, who has an impressive singing voice, and Uenoyama Ritsuka, who has guitar skills beyond those of a high school student, and depicts the youthful lives of the members of the rock band “Given”.
The TV anime was broadcast in 2019 as the first BL comic to be adapted into an anime on “Noitamina,” and “Given the Movie” was released the following year in 2020. The first part of the two-part sequel, “Given the Movie: Hiiragi Mix,” will be released in January 2024, and the second part, “Given the Movie: To the Sea,” will be released on September 20th, completing the series.
Sato Mafuyu, Uenoyama Ritsuka, Nakayama Haruki, Kaji Akihiko, Kashima Shu, Yagi Gensumi, and Murata Ugetsu will be appearing at Nanja Town in Ikebukuro, Tokyo. The collaboration event “Given the Movie: To the Sea in NAMJATOWN” will feature original life-size illustrations of the seven enjoying Nanja Town, as well as illustrations of the characters from the film in animal ears.
The venue will be selling original goods, desserts and food, as well as hosting mini-games where you can win original prizes, such as “His Lord’s Guitar Lesson” and “SNS Pilgrimage Rally.”
The lineup of original goods includes items that are characteristic of the work, such as “Silk Acrylic Stands” (7 types), “Pick Acrylic Key Chain Collection” (7 types), and “Effector-style Acrylic Key Chains.”
The desserts and food are based on the characters, and there are 10 varieties in total, including “Midwinter Plate Crepes – With Furballs”, “Beginning of Summer Blue Float”, “Haruki’s Honey Cafe Latte”, and “Akihiko’s Genius… Salmon Chazuke with Boiled Dumplings”. For a limited time from October 5th to October 27th, there will also be “Happy Birthday!! Akihiko’s ‘Today’s Star’ Matcha Ice Parfait”.
The set will come with one “concert ticket-style illustration sheet” (8 types in total) with an illustration linked to the menu.
In the mini-game “His Lord’s Guitar Lessons,” you use a real guitar, and depending on your results you can win an original prize from S to C. In the “SNS Holy Land Pilgrimage Rally,” you look at the social media profiles of Given, syh, and Ugetsu, who are visiting Nanja Town, and take a commemorative photo at the same photo spot. Once the photo is taken, you can receive an original prize. Each game costs 700 yen (tax included).
“Given the Movie: To the Sea in NAMJATOWN” will be held for a limited time from September 20th to October 27th. Original goods sold at the venue will be available at the “Namco Parks Online Store” from 10:00 on November 22nd to 23:59 on December 23rd.
