October 10th is “Baby Day.”
This commemorative day originated from the fact that the pregnancy period is considered to be “October 10th (Totsuki Toka),” and was established by the management company of the baby goods chain store “Akachan Honpo.”
There are many baby characters in anime too. They come in a variety of types depending on the work, such as those who heal everyone with their adorable behavior, those who have incredible talents, and those who can speak fluently .
So Anime! Anime! conducted a reader survey titled “What comes to mind when you think of baby characters?”
following on from last year. We received responses from 400 people during the survey period from September 26th to September 30th. The gender ratio was about 30 percent male, 65 percent female, and about 5 percent gave no response, with more females than males. In terms of age group, the majority were young people, with about 40 percent under 19 and about 15 percent in their 20s.
