Mobile Suit Gundam: Requiem of Revenge, a new original anime for global distribution, will be exclusively distributed worldwide on Netflix from October 17, 2024. Here we will introduce all the information about this work that has been announced so far, including the cast, mobile suits that will appear, action figures, collaborations, and more.
In the year 0079 of the Universal Century, the Principality of Zeon declared independence from the Earth Federation Government and entered a state of war.
Thanks to the use of new mobile suits, the Zeon forces maintained an advantage in the early stages of the war, but they lacked the military power to completely conquer the Earth, and the war situation became stalemated.
Then, 11 months after the outbreak of war, one of the bases under Zeon’s occupation in Eastern Europe was seized by the Federation Forces.
Among the mixed battalion heading to retake it was Solari and the Red Wolf Squad, a mobile suit platoon that had just come down from space.

Mobile Suit Gundam: Requiem of Revenge is a new original anime series for global distribution, consisting of 6 episodes of 30 minutes each, focusing on the European front during the One Year War, the setting of the first Gundam series, Mobile Suit Gundam. 11
months after the outbreak of the war, one of the bases under Zeon occupation in Eastern Europe is seized by the Federal Army, and the story follows the exploits of Solari and the Red Wolf Squad, a mobile suit platoon that has just come down from space and joins a mixed battalion heading to recapture it.
The production will use Unreal Engine 5, and will be a collaboration between Sunrise and SAFEHOUSE. The screenplay will be written by Gavin Highnight, whose work includes the anime series Tekken: Bloodline, Transformers: Cyberverse, and Star Wars: Resistance, and the director will be Erasmus Brosdau, whose work includes the anime series Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness, the games Star Citizen, Rise: Son of Rome, and the Crysis series.
In the first four minutes of the film, you can get a sneak peek at the realistic background depiction of the European front of the One Year War, made possible by Unreal Engine 5. The film begins with a
tense atmosphere, as Principality of Zeon soldiers walk through silent ruins, but then the scene changes completely to a “battlefield” where fierce fighting with the Earth Federation forces unfolds.
How will they confront the Earth Federation’s “white devil” that appears before Solari? The full story is getting more and more interesting.

MS部隊レッド・ウルフ隊の隊長である主人公・ソラリが乗る新機体「無識別型ザクII（ソラリ機）」は、ザクIIをベースにしたさまざまな機体パーツを流用して生まれたモビルスーツ。渋いデザインとカラーリングが特徴的な改修機だ。
本機体は完成品アクションフィギュア「GUNDAM UNIVERSE ZAKU II（Unidentified Type）Solari」として、2024年12月に発売予定。
造形はフルCGで描かれる特徴的なディテールや汚し表現を施し、さまざまなモビルスーツのパーツを流用したオリジナルのボディがくまなく再現されている。また通常よりも多く取り付けられたアンテナや、足の爪にも注目したい。
ソラリのために組み立てられたザクIIの特徴が醸し出ている、ビーム兵器を防ぐために考えられた二重装甲の盾と、外装に貼られた履帯をじっくりと堪能できるだろう。
パーツとして「ヒート・ホーク」、「ザク・マシンガン」、「シールド」が付属し、劇中同様のポージングを繰り出せる可動域。また、別売りの「GUNDAM UNIVERSE GUNDAM EX」と並べると、白い悪魔と対峙するシーンを再現可能だ。
「GUNDAM UNIVERSE ZAKU II（Unidentified Type）Solari」の価格は4,950円（税込）で、発売は2024年12月。
本作ではソラリのモビルスーツ以外にも、もちろんさまざまな機体が登場する。
ソラリの前に現れる地球連邦軍の“白い悪魔”ガンダムは、強そうかつ凄まじいオーラを放っていることから、ネット上では「恐怖の象徴か？」「ガチで怖いチビりそう」と恐怖に慄く声が寄せられた。これまでの『機動戦士ガンダム』シリーズにはない表現でガンダムが描かれそうだ。
そのほかにも現在判明しているモビルスーツは、レッド・ウルフ隊の隊員が搭乗する「ザクII F型（ルショーン機）」、「ザクII F型（チャブス機）」、「ザクII F型（ケイル機）」。
さらに、「グフカスタム」、「ザクタンク」、「ジム」、「陸戦強襲型ガンタンクB型」となっている。いずれもどのような活躍を見せてくれるのか、期待が高まる。
アニメ！アニメ！では、10月12日、東京のTOHOシネマズ六本木ヒルズにて行われた「配信直前記念！トークイベント付特別先行上映会」のレポートを公開している。
イベントには、ガンダムファンなら絶対に知っておきたい驚愕の新視点で一年戦争を描き直した、ドイツ出身の新進気鋭のエラスマス・ブロスダウ監督が登壇した。エラスマス監督はガンダムシリーズ初の海外ディレクターとなる。さらに、アニメーションプロデューサー兼音響監督の由良浩明、プロデューサーの彌富健一もステージに立ち、作中に登場するモビルスーツのガンプラ、GUNDAM UNIVERSEも並べられた。
バンダイナムコエンターテインメントアメリカとLook North Worldの共同制作で、『フォートナイト』内に『復讐のレクイエム』独自の「Unreal Editor for Fortnite（UEFN）」の島が登場する。
『Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance Red vs Blue』のタイトルで2024年秋に配信開始予定。『フォートナイト』の世界で『復讐のレクイエム』をテーマにしたチームデスマッチゲームが楽しめるとのことで、今後の続報を楽しみに待とう。
『機動戦士ガンダム』の新作オリジナルアニメ『機動戦士ガンダム 復讐のレクイエム』は、10月17日よりNetflixにて世界独占配信開始。
