From “Mobile Suit Gundam: Requiem of Revenge,” which began streaming worldwide on Netflix on October 17, 2024, the “Zaku II F-Type Solari” and “Gundam EX” will appear in the Gunpla HG (High Grade) series. They will go on sale from October 19.
Mobile Suit Gundam: Requiem of Revenge is a new original anime series for global distribution, consisting of 6 episodes of 30 minutes each, focusing on the European front during the One Year War, the setting of the first Gundam series, Mobile Suit Gundam. 11 months after the outbreak of the war, one of the bases under Zeon occupation in Eastern Europe is seized by the Federal Army, and the story follows the exploits of Solari and the Red Wolf Squad, a mobile suit platoon that has just come down from space and joins a mixed battalion heading to recapture it.
The film will be produced in collaboration with Sunrise and SAFEHOUSE, using Unreal Engine 5. The screenplay will be written by Gavin Highnight, who worked on the anime Star Wars Resistance, and the director will be Erasmus Brosdau, who worked on the anime Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness. The Japanese voice cast will include Nanako Mori as Ilia Solari, Shoya Ishige as Niland LeShon, Shunichi Maki as Reed Gelfi (Chubs), Ryunosuke Watanuki as Cale Zavaleta, Ryosuke Hara as Ander Heaton, Takeo Otsuka as Oni Kasuga, Maki Kawase as Hayley Arhun, and Hiroshi Naka as Alfie Zydos (Gearhead).
Now, from Mobile Suit Gundam: Requiem of the Revenge, the Zaku II F-type Solari’s machine, piloted by the main character Solari, and the Gundam EX, depicted as the “enemy” in the film, have been released as Gunpla HG.
The leg articulated pipes of the “HG 1/144 Zaku II F Solari (Requiem of Revenge)” have movable axes at the joints, allowing them to follow the movement of the legs. In addition, the position of the mono-eye can be adjusted by sliding the rib on the back of the head, and the heat hawk and Zaku machine gun can be suspended from the back via joint parts.
The shield equipped on the right shoulder is expressed with high density detail on both the front and back, and a dynamic display is possible by using the separately sold action base.
Additionally, it comes with marking stickers that can be used to recreate unit markings, full-body molding, and dirt.
The ammunition belt connected to the shoulder gatling of the “HG 1/144 Gundam EX (Requiem of Revenge)” uses soft parts. It follows flexible movements.
Three beam saber grips are attached to the backpack, allowing you to recreate the drawing motion, and the beam rifle can be suspended from the back via joint parts.
Like the Zaku II F-Type, the shield has high-density detail on both sides and can be used with an action base (sold separately). Marking stickers are also included to show the markings on each part and unit markings.
“HG 1/144 Zaku II F Type Solari (Requiem of Revenge)” and “HG 1/144 Gundam EX (Requiem of Revenge)” will both be priced at 2,090 yen (tax included) and will be released on October 19th.
