A Halloween visual of the character Melto Narushima was released on the official Twitter account of the TV anime series Oshi no Ko. A special video with a new voice was also released at the same time, and has been well-received on social media.
“Oshi no Ko” is a TV anime based on a manga by Akasaka Aka and Yokoyari Mengo, which depicts the light and darkness of the entertainment industry based on detailed research. Since its serialization began in April 2020, the manga has garnered support from many celebrities and industry insiders, making it a hot topic. With that momentum, it won the grand prize at the “Next Manga Awards 2021 Comics Division”.
It has also been announced that the final chapter, chapter 166, will be published in issue 50 of “Weekly Young Jump” to be released on November 14, 2024. The final volume 16 will be released on December 18, bringing the series to an end after about four and a half years.
The first season of the TV anime, which began airing in April 2023, has received a tremendous response worldwide and has gained popularity among a wide range of generations. The second season will begin airing in July 2024, and the production of the third season has also been decided. A live-action drama will begin streaming on Amazon Prime Video from November 28, 2024. A live-action movie is scheduled to be released in theaters on December 20. In addition, a 2.5-dimensional stage play is scheduled to be performed in December.
The much-talked-about anime “Oshi no Ko” has released a Halloween visual of the character Melto Narushima in honor of Halloween, which falls on October 31st. The image shows him dressed as a werewolf with glowing red eyes against the full moon, creating a powerful image.
Melto Narushima is a character who played an especially prominent role in the second season of the TV anime. In the first season, when he acted in the drama “Today is Sweet,” he was criticized by people involved for his “bad acting.”
However, in episode 6 of the second season (episode 17 overall), “Growth,” his acting improved dramatically, just as the subtitle suggests. Thanks in part to Aqua’s casual advice, he managed to turn around the harsh criticism he received.
His growth, just like that of the main character, has been hugely popular with fans, and this Halloween visual has also been met with delight on social media with comments such as “You’re the main character after all!!”
In the special video, which features a new voice by voice actor Seiji Maeda, Melt appears asking for candy, starting with “Trick or treat!” Not only the voice, but also the camerawork allows you to get a closer look at his werewolf-like poses and costume, so it’s a must-see.
Fans have been expressing their passionate feelings for Melt, saying things like, “What? He’s too handsome!”, “It’s so good I’m crying. I’m so overwhelmed,” “I never thought Melt would show up!” and “This sudden appearance has my heart racing… it was a great Halloween.”
Furthermore, Okubo Rumi, the voice actress who plays MEMcho, also posted a comment on her own X saying, “Thank you to the world that gave birth to Melt-kyun…” expressing her excitement at the visual. Her comment, “In the middle of the night, a voice that sounds almost inhuman came out (?)” conveys her excitement.
