A collaboration between the anime “Haikyu!!” and the family apparel brand “BABYDOLL” has resulted in the release of baby clothes inspired by high school jerseys. “Haikyu!!” is a monumental sports manga by Haruichi Furudate that began serialization in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump in February 2012 and gained popularity for its passionate youth drama about high school students who are devoted to volleyball. The series will conclude its eight-and-a-half-year serialization in July 2020, and the total number of copies of the 45 volumes of the comics has exceeded 60 million.
The TV anime began airing on the Mainichi Broadcasting System and TBS affiliates in 2014, and has become a hugely popular series that has captivated many fans and viewers up until the fourth season, “Haikyu!! TO THE TOP.” “Haikyu!! The Movie: Battle at the Dump,” which was released nationwide in February 2024, caused a sensation, grossing over 20 billion yen worldwide, including in Japan.
To commemorate the 10th anniversary of the series’ broadcast in 2024, the “Anime Haikyu!! 10th Anniversary – Connecting – Project” has been running since April, connecting fans with the series. Various projects are being planned, including the production of commemorative visuals and a 10th anniversary exhibition.
