It has been announced that the collaboration special “Heiancho Relaxing Holiday”, featuring the anime “Ojarumaru” and the characters from the historical drama “Hikaru Kimi e”, will be broadcast on NHK Educational TV on October 19th. In the run up to the broadcast, comments have been received from Director Daichi Heitarou and Fairouz Ai, who plays Sei Shonagon from the anime “Ojarumaru”, and First Summer Uika, who plays Kikyou/Sei Shonagon from the historical drama “Hikaru Kimi e”.
“Ojarumaru” is a TV anime currently being broadcast on NHK Educational TV, based on a manga by Inumaru Rin. The
story follows Ojarumaru Sakanoue, the son of an aristocrat in the fairy world of Heiancho, who ends up living in the home of Kazuma, an elementary school student he met in the modern-day town of Gekkou, and the eccentric townspeople who get involved in the lively and fun commotion that unfolds.
“To You, the Shining Prince” is a historical drama that tells the story of Murasaki Shikibu (Yuriko Yoshitaka), the woman who wrote the best-selling “The Tale of Genji” that has been around for over a thousand years, and her life as she lived her life to the fullest with unchanging love in her heart in the changing world. Murasaki Shikibu weaves the story of Hikaru Genji = Hikaru Kimi with her feelings for Fujiwara no Michinaga (Tasuku Emoto), her hidden passion and her unique imagination.
The two works, which have teamed up based on the same theme of the Heian period, have collaborated in various ways, such as Ojarumaru visiting places associated with “Hikaru Kimi e” and Nishimura Chinami, the voice actress for Sakanoue Ojarumaru, appearing in “Hikaru Kimi e” as the Lady of Chikuzen.
In the upcoming anime “Heiancho Relaxing Holiday”, a total of 10 characters from “Hikaru Kimi e” get lost in Heiancho, Ojarumaru’s hometown, and cause a lot of chaos. In preparation for the broadcast, Director Daichi Heitarou and Fairouz Ai, who plays Sei Shonagon from the anime “Hikaru Kimi e”, and First Summer Uika, who plays Kikyo/Sei Shonagon from the historical drama “Hikaru Kimi e”, each made a comment.
The special collaboration program “Heiancho Relaxed Holiday,” featuring the anime “Ojarumaru” and characters from the historical drama “To You Who Shines,” will be broadcast on NHK E-Tele from 4:35 to 5:00 p.m. on October 19th.
